Photo Renamers – Finally Keep Track Of All Those Digital Photos
Once upon a time we would find ourselves with stacks of pictures that would pile up after a couple of months of family outings and have to sit down and try to sort it all out and make sense of it. Anymore, things are a little easier thanks to the help of computers that we can just load all of our photos into.
Even this system is not completely carefree and can also be a little frustrating. If you take lots of pictures at each and every juncture, chances are you’ve had to spend hours organizing them and probably wished you could rename photos with less fuss.
The file names of pictures that are being loaded into your computer are created by your camera, not something that’s going to make a lot of sense to you. That name is usually a series of numbers and letters. This is not helpful when you want to know what a picture is.
That means you end up looking through hundreds of pictures trying to find a handful of ones you want and where the computer put them in the system. But if you have a photo renamer program it would be much easier to change to file names that you understand.
It’s not hard to do.
After you load up the remaining program, you can find all of the pictures that you want to change the name of and highlight them in bulk. For example, let’s say you have a number of pictures of your summer vacation. After the entire grouping of photos has been highlighted, you should be able to just make a few clicks to change all of their names to something like “Italy Summer Trip” to make them easy for you to spot. The computer will do all the rest of the work, changing all of the filenames, so the next time you want those photos you’ll know exactly where to look for them.
Sometimes, those who are into more advanced photographic usages need to look for more specifics in a photograph. You need a picture renamer that will let you look at things like shutter speed, white balance, color profile or the exposure in the photo. Often this information is attached to your photograph in what is called an invisible tag. With the right program, you will be able to access these tags and even sort your pictures by them.
