Giving The Hewlett Packard 8000dn Printer Its Evaluation

When considering the HP LaserJet 8000dn printer using 8000dn toner, make sure to give all of its capabilities and functions the consideration they’re due because there are plenty of them. This particular Hewlett-Packard printer is surprisingly low priced and delivers its monochrome print products very capably and with typical HP reliability, which is not only not surprising but also very comforting.

To start, the 8000dn is capable of printing out product at over 24 pages per minute in standard or “normal” mode. For those who want slightly faster speeds, it’s possible to set print quality slightly lower, though any product that emerges from this printer will be sure to be excellent almost across the board. Again, this is a bit surprising for printer at this price point.

This Hewlett-Packard can be connected to a network or a computer through a number of different means, almost all of them fairly standard when it comes to an HP printer. There are both Ethernet and parallel port connections, and just about every IT specialist would say that hooking this monochrome printer up to the network will be very easy to do.

Print resolution, as they relate to the quality of the product that the 8000dn is capable of producing, is very good, coming in as it does at 1,200 dots per inch. For a printer occupying the place it does in the market and price point Hewlett-Packard has positioned at, this is somewhat of a surprise, because most such printers usually only come with 600 dpi capability. To avoid getting caught in a jam or out of HP printer toner cartridges, stock up on ink.

This particular Hewlett-Packard printer also features a duplex printing function which, again, is not often seen for printer that goes for about $285 new. Duplex printing is the ability to print out on both sides of the paper without having to reinsert the paper back into the printer upside down and then printing again. This particular feature is usually worth much to some businesses.

The machine comes standard with a full 24 MB of RAM, which is usually more than enough for the needs of most any workgroup. It can be increased greatly, all the way up to 192 MB, with very little trouble. Check with the office IT specialist to see if a memory upgrade should be done prior to networking the machine. Chances are, though, that it won’t be required.

The 8000dn is able to hold 1,100 sheets of paper within its capacious storage trays, and it can print out on a variety of media elements, including standard letter, legal, envelope and transparencies. Check the specifications for all of the different media sizes, because there are a great many. Like most HP printers, it has been designed to work with Windows-based operating systems.

When considering the HP LaserJet 8000dn printer, take care to give it a good workout in order to gain an appreciation of all of the print jobs and taskings it can handle. For around $300 or less, one will be giving a highly capable monochrome laser jet printer that is very durable and reliable. When one is found, it would probably be a good idea to buy it up while one still can.

This high capability extends all the way through to the 8000dn printer toner cartridges. Producing pages of clear and crisp text is certainly no surprise when using HP cartridges. Quality ink and toner cartridges always shows through to the final product.
